Key Takeaways
  • Spot: a regular account pays 0.20% as a maker and 0.20% as a taker, and the two rates stay equal at every VIP level.
  • Futures: 0.02% maker and 0.06% taker on USDT-margined perpetuals, charged on the full position when you open and again when you close.
  • TradFi perps use the futures fee table. Stock tokens and leveraged tokens pay the spot rate, and leveraged tokens add a daily management fee.
  • Funding passes between traders, not to XT.com, usually every 8 hours. You only pay or receive it if your position is open at settlement.
  • VIP levels lower both rates, and one condition per level is enough. VIP 1 starts at 30,000 USDT in assets or 200,000 USDT of 30-day futures volume.
  • With TradeGetPaid you get 45% of your futures trading fees back, which takes the futures rates to 0.011% maker and 0.033% taker. Spot fees aren’t covered.

XT.com fees at a glance

Fee Maker Taker
Spot 0.20% 0.20%
Futures (USDT-margined perpetuals) 0.02% 0.06%
TradFi perps (stocks, forex, indices, metals, commodities) 0.02% 0.06%
Stock tokens (on spot) 0.20% 0.20%
Leveraged tokens (3x and 5x, on spot) 0.20% 0.20%

Rates for a regular account (VIP 0). Higher VIP levels pay less. Perpetual futures also pay or receive funding at set times, between traders rather than to XT.com. Leveraged tokens carry a management fee on top: 0.3% a day on 3x tokens, 0.5% on 5x. The USDT/USDC spot pair trades with no fee.

Maker or taker: which fee you pay

A market order fills immediately against orders already waiting in the order book. It takes liquidity out of the order book, so you pay the taker fee.

A limit order that finds no match at your price goes into the order book to wait. When another trader fills it, you pay the maker fee.

Order book: a market order fills at once and pays the taker fee, a limit order waits in the book and pays the maker fee

A market order takes liquidity and pays the taker fee. A limit order that waits in the book adds liquidity and pays the maker fee.

A limit order priced to match straight away doesn’t count as a maker order. XT.com fills it at once at the best price available and charges the taker fee. On futures, that’s the difference between paying 0.02% and 0.06%. Our maker vs taker guide covers the order types in more depth.

XT.com spot fees

Spot is the simplest kind of trade: you buy the coin itself, and it’s yours. A regular account pays 0.20% as a maker and 0.20% as a taker. The two rates stay equal at every VIP level, so on XT.com a limit order never lowers your spot fee. A higher level does: VIP 1 brings both rates to 0.16%.

Buy $1,000 of Bitcoin and the fee is $2, whatever the order type. Selling it later costs another $2, so the round trip comes to $4.

Binance and Bybit charge a regular account 0.1% on each side. Kraken Pro and Coinbase Exchange charge a new account more: Kraken Pro 0.4% as a maker and 0.8% as a taker, Coinbase Exchange 0.4% and 0.6%.

One pair costs nothing to trade. Since 22 September 2026, USDT/USDC has a 0% maker and 0% taker fee, and XT.com calls this a long-term benefit that outlasts the campaign it launched with.

XT.com futures fees

XT.com’s USDT-margined perpetual contracts follow a coin’s price and never expire. You can go long or short, and you can use leverage: up to 150x on BTCUSDT for positions up to 300,000 USDT, and less as the position grows.

A regular account pays 0.02% as a maker and 0.06% as a taker. Those rates are a fraction of the spot rate, but leverage changes the sums: the same $1,000 can cost more in fees on futures than on spot.

Why leverage makes futures fees bigger

XT.com works out a futures fee as the number of contracts, times the contract’s face value, times the average fill price, times your rate. That’s the value of the whole position, however little margin backs it. Put up $1,000 at 10x and you hold a $10,000 position, so the fee is charged on $10,000.

With market orders, opening the position costs $6 and closing it another $6. That $12 is 1.2% of your own money, and you pay it whether the trade wins or loses. Buying and selling $1,000 on spot costs $4.

$1,000 at 10x leverage opens a $10,000 XT.com futures position that costs $6 to open and $6 to close at the taker rate

The fee is charged on the full $10,000, not just your $1,000: $6 to open and $6 to close at the regular taker rate.

Limit orders on both sides bring the round trip down to $4. Check the leverage before you place the order, too: on BTCUSDT, XT.com’s order form opens at 20x cross margin. At 20x, the same $1,000 controls a $20,000 position, and each side costs $12 at the taker rate.

Opening and closing are charged separately

XT.com’s fee article lists an opening fee and a closing fee, each at 0.02% for a maker and 0.06% for a taker. Each side is charged at that trade’s own average price, so the fee moves with the market: if your $10,000 position is worth $10,500 when you close it with a market order, the closing fee is $6.30. On USDT-margined contracts, XT.com takes the fee in USDT.

Funding fees on perpetual futures

A perpetual contract has no expiry date to pull its price back to the coin’s spot price, so exchanges use funding payments instead. None of it goes to XT.com: in its own words, funding fees are “collected between users”. Funding is separate from the trading fee.

Animation of XT.com funding on a 24-hour clock: at 08:00, 16:00 and 00:00 UTC the money goes from longs to shorts while the rate is positive, then from shorts to longs once it turns negative. None of it goes to XT.com.

Funding goes between traders, not to XT.com, usually every 8 hours.

  • Who pays: when the funding rate is positive, longs pay shorts. When it’s negative, shorts pay longs.
  • When: usually every 8 hours, at 00:00, 08:00 and 16:00 UTC. Some contracts settle more often: on 25 September 2026, for example, XT.com moved ONE_USDT from every 4 hours to every hour.
  • How much: your position value times the funding rate, with the position valued at the mark price. XT.com’s own example is a 1 BTC long at a mark price of 60,000 USDT, which pays the short side 6 USDT at a rate of 0.01%. At that example rate, a $10,000 position pays or receives $1 per settlement.
  • Only at settlement: if you hold no position at the settlement time, you neither pay nor receive anything.

TradFi, stock tokens and leveraged tokens

TradFi perps. XT.com lists stocks, forex, indices, metals and commodities as perpetual contracts settled in USDT, which it describes as contracts for difference. They trade on the same fee table as crypto futures, so a regular account pays 0.02% maker and 0.06% taker on the full position. XT.com’s TradFi page says rates depend on the asset class and your VIP level and sends you to the fee page, which has a single futures table. Major forex pairs go up to 500x leverage: at 500x, $100 of margin opens a $50,000 position, and opening it with a market order costs $30.

Stock tokens. XT.com’s RWA Zone also lists tokenized stocks on spot, such as TSLAX, AAPLX and NVDAX against USDT. You hold a token instead of a contract, and you pay the regular spot rate, 0.20% for makers and takers alike.

Leveraged tokens. XT.com’s leveraged tokens, which it calls ETFs, give you 3x or 5x long or short exposure, for example BTC3L and BTC3S. They trade like spot, at 0.20% maker and 0.20% taker. XT.com also takes a management fee from each token’s net value, in three parts at 00:00, 08:00 and 16:00 UTC: 0.3% a day on 3x tokens and 0.5% a day on 5x tokens. Hold $1,000 of a 3x token for a day and the management fee comes to about $3, on top of the $2 it cost to buy. If you don’t hold the token at those times, you pay none of it.

XT.com VIP levels

XT.com has nine levels: VIP 0 to VIP 7, then Premium VIP. The fee page has one table for spot and one for futures.

Level Spot maker Spot taker Futures maker Futures taker
VIP 0 0.2000% 0.2000% 0.0200% 0.0600%
VIP 1 0.1600% 0.1600% 0.0180% 0.0540%
VIP 2 0.1500% 0.1500% 0.0150% 0.0460%
VIP 3 0.1200% 0.1200% 0.0130% 0.0410%
VIP 4 0.1000% 0.1000% 0.0120% 0.0370%
VIP 5 0.0700% 0.0700% 0.0100% 0.0350%
VIP 6 0.0600% 0.0600% 0.0080% 0.0330%
VIP 7 0.0400% 0.0400% 0.0060% 0.0300%
Premium VIP 0.0200% 0.0200% 0.0040% 0.0280%

Rates from XT.com’s fee page as of 15 October 2026.

At Premium VIP, spot costs a tenth of the regular rate. Futures makers never pay zero: the lowest maker rate is 0.004%, at Premium VIP.

How to reach each level

You need to meet one condition. The spot table lists 30-day spot volume and the futures table 30-day futures volume. Both list the same asset amounts, counted as your current account assets or your 30-day average.

Level 30-day futures volume 30-day spot volume Assets
VIP 1 200,000 USDT 20,000 USDT 30,000 USDT
VIP 2 1,000,000 USDT 100,000 USDT 50,000 USDT
VIP 3 8,000,000 USDT 250,000 USDT 100,000 USDT
VIP 4 15,000,000 USDT 500,000 USDT 200,000 USDT
VIP 5 35,000,000 USDT 1,000,000 USDT 500,000 USDT
VIP 6 85,000,000 USDT 5,000,000 USDT 1,000,000 USDT
VIP 7 150,000,000 USDT 10,000,000 USDT 2,000,000 USDT
Premium VIP 300,000,000 USDT 30,000,000 USDT 5,000,000 USDT
  • Levels update once a day, at 03:00 UTC, and the new rates apply straight away.
  • Sub-accounts count together with the main account and share one level.
  • XT, the exchange’s own token, counts extra toward the asset condition: 1.4 times its value at VIP 0 to VIP 2, rising to 2 times at VIP 7 and Premium VIP.

For a futures trader, VIP 1 is close: 200,000 USDT of 30-day futures volume is ten round trips of a $10,000 position, and it takes the taker fee from 0.06% to 0.054%.

How to pay less on XT.com

  1. Use limit orders on futures. A maker pays 0.02% instead of 0.06%, a third as much: $2 a side on the $10,000 position instead of $6. On spot, the order type doesn’t change the rate.
  2. Reach VIP 1. With 30,000 USDT in assets you qualify on both tables without trading more, which cuts spot to 0.16% and the futures taker fee to 0.054%.
  3. Set your leverage on purpose. The fee follows the position, so BTCUSDT’s default 20x costs twice the fees of 10x on the same margin.
  4. Check funding before you hold a position for days. At XT.com’s example rate of 0.01%, a $10,000 position pays or receives $3 a day. A week on the paying side comes to $21, more than the $12 it takes to open and close.
  5. Count the management fee on leveraged tokens. At 0.5% a day, $1,000 held in a 5x token pays about $35 a week in management fees.
  6. Get part of your futures fees back through a cashback site, covered in the next section.

XT.com fees after cashback

When you sign up through a referral link, XT.com pays the referrer a share of your trading fees, and TradeGetPaid passes part of that share back to you. On XT.com, TradeGetPaid returns 45% of your futures trading fees. Spot fees aren’t included. You pay XT.com its normal rates, and the 45% comes back to you afterwards.

On futures, that takes the regular 0.02% maker fee to an effective 0.011% and the 0.06% taker fee to 0.033%. The $10,000 round trip from earlier costs $12 in fees, $5.40 of it comes back, and you really pay $6.60.

XT.com futures fees with TradeGetPaid's 45% cashback: maker 0.02% to 0.011%, taker 0.06% to 0.033%

Regular XT.com futures rates before and after 45% cashback.

Here’s a month of futures trading with market orders. Your 30-day volume sets your VIP level, so each row uses the taker rate that volume reaches:

Monthly futures volume Taker rate Fees 45% back What you really pay
$100,000 0.06% (VIP 0) $60 $27 $33
$400,000 0.054% (VIP 1) $216 $97.20 $118.80
$1,000,000 0.046% (VIP 2) $460 $207 $253
$25,000,000 0.037% (VIP 4) $9,250 $4,162.50 $5,087.50
$100,000,000 0.033% (VIP 6) $33,000 $14,850 $18,150

$100,000 is five round trips of the $10,000 position, and $400,000 is 20. At $400,000 the VIP 1 rate already applies, so the fees come to $216 rather than the $240 they’d be at the regular rate.

Some futures fees earn no cashback, because XT.com pays no referral commission on them: fees on contracts in its Innovation Zone, and fees you cover with deduction vouchers.
