TradeGetPaid runs this website, tradegetpaid.com. This policy says what we learn about you when you use it, why, and what you can ask of us.
In short: the site has no user accounts. It counts visits with Google Analytics, which you can switch off at any time, and in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland it counts only if you agree. So we learn very little.
1. Who Is Responsible
TradeGetPaid operates tradegetpaid.com and is responsible for the data described here. For any question or request about your data, write to privacy@tradegetpaid.com.
2. What This Site Does Not Collect
- No account data. You cannot sign up or sign in on this site, so we never ask for your name, your email address or a password.
- No advertising. We run no advertising scripts, and we build no profile of you.
- Nothing from your exchange account. We never ask for exchange passwords, API keys or identity documents, and we cannot access your funds.
3. Cookies and What Your Browser Stores
When you switch between the light and the dark theme, your browser remembers the choice in its local storage, so the next page opens the same way. The choice stays on your device and is never sent to us.
Your answer to the consent bar is kept the same way, and we ask for it again after six months. The site itself sets no cookies. Google Analytics sets its cookies (_ga and one whose name starts with _ga_, kept for up to two years). In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland it sets them only after you choose Accept; elsewhere it sets them when you open the site. Choosing No thanks removes them. Clearing the site’s data in your browser removes all of it.
4. Statistics
The site uses Google Analytics 4, a service provided by Google, to count visits and see which pages are read. It records the pages you open, the site that referred you, the links to other sites that you follow, your browser and device type, and your approximate location. The advertising features of Google Analytics are switched off.
If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the site asks you first. Google Analytics is loaded only after you choose Accept in the consent bar, and if you choose No thanks it is not loaded and sets no cookies. Elsewhere Google Analytics runs from the first page you open. Our host tells the page which of the two applies, from the country your IP address belongs to. Where it cannot name the country, the site asks.
Wherever you are, you can switch Google Analytics off or change your choice at any time with the Cookie Settings link at the bottom of every page. Google describes how it handles this data in its privacy policy.
Everything else on a page, its fonts, images and scripts, is served from our own domain. The one exception is a video you choose to play (section 8).
5. Server Logs
The site is hosted by Vercel Inc., a company in the United States. As with every website, the host’s servers receive a few details with each page you open: your IP address, the time, the address of the page, and the browser and device that asked for it. They are needed to deliver the page and to keep the site secure and available. We do not use them to identify you or to build a profile of you.
6. When You Write to Us
When you email us, we receive your email address and what you write. We use both to answer you and to handle your request, and we keep the correspondence for as long as that takes and for as long as the law requires.
7. Referral Links and the Exchanges
Our links to an exchange’s sign-up page carry our referral code. When you follow one, you leave this site. From there the exchange’s own privacy policy applies, and the exchange collects what it needs to open and run your account.
As an affiliate of each supported exchange, we receive its reports on the accounts that were opened through our link: the account’s number on the exchange (its UID) and figures about its trading, which are volume, fees paid, and the commission and cashback that result. We use these reports for our accounting with the exchange. We do not receive your password or your identity documents, and we cannot move your funds.
8. Who Else Receives Data
We do not sell personal data, and we give it to nobody for their advertising. Two companies process data on our behalf: our hosting provider (section 5) and our email provider (section 6). We disclose data where a law or a court order requires it.
Google receives the statistics described in section 4: where the site asks first, only after you chose Accept, and nowhere after you chose No thanks.
Some articles include a video that is hosted on YouTube, a service of Google. The page shows our own picture of the video and loads nothing from YouTube until you press play. When you do, the player is loaded from Google’s servers. Google then receives your IP address and details of your browser and device, and the player keeps its settings in your browser’s local storage. We use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced player: Google does not use what you watch in it to personalise YouTube or advertising for you. Google describes how it handles this data in its privacy policy.
9. Why We Are Allowed to Use It
Where the EU’s or the UK’s General Data Protection Regulation applies, we rely on our legitimate interests: delivering a secure website (server logs), answering the people who write to us (email), and accounting for our affiliate commission (the exchanges’ reports). A video from YouTube (section 8) is loaded only at your request, when you press play.
Where the site asks first (section 4), Google Analytics runs only with your consent, and you can withdraw it at any time with the Cookie Settings link at the bottom of every page. Elsewhere we rely on our legitimate interest in knowing how the site is used, and the same link switches Google Analytics off.
10. Your Rights
You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it or to restrict its use, and object to its use. You can also complain to the data protection authority where you live.
Write to privacy@tradegetpaid.com. We answer within one month and ask for enough detail to be sure the request comes from you. Because the site has no accounts, the only data we hold under your name is what you sent us by email. A request about an exchange account’s referral data needs that account’s UID.
11. Children
This site is for people aged 18 or over.
12. Changes to This Policy
We change this policy when the site changes, and put the new date at the top of this page.
