Key Takeaways
  • Spot: 0.10% for makers and 0.10% for takers on a regular account, plus a changing list of pairs that cost nothing to trade.
  • Futures: 0.02% maker and 0.08% taker on the full position value, paid on opening and again on closing. Some smaller coins charge makers more.
  • TradFi futures (stocks, indices, metals, forex and commodities) are charged exactly like crypto futures.
  • Funding passes between traders, not to WEEX: every 8 hours on BTCUSDT, every 4 hours on many other contracts, and only if your position is open at that moment.
  • VIP levels lower the rates step by step. Meeting one condition is enough for a level, and 10,000 USDT in assets gets you VIP 1.
  • TradeGetPaid returns 40% of your spot and futures fees, an effective 0.012% maker and 0.048% taker on futures.

WEEX fees at a glance

Fee Maker Taker
Spot 0.10% 0.10%
Futures (crypto perpetuals) 0.02% 0.08%
TradFi futures (stocks, indices, metals, forex, commodities) 0.02% 0.08%

Rates for a regular account (VIP 0). Higher VIP levels pay less. A changing list of spot pairs trades with no fee, and on some smaller coins futures makers pay more, up to the taker rate. Holding a futures or TradFi position through a funding time adds a funding payment, which goes to or comes from other traders, never WEEX.

Maker or taker: which fee you pay

A market order fills immediately against orders already waiting in the order book. It takes liquidity out of the order book, so you pay the taker fee: WEEX’s fee guide says trades from market orders “are always classified as taker trades”.

A limit order that goes into the order book and waits adds liquidity, and when another trader fills it, you pay the maker fee. For a regular account on WEEX spot the two rates are the same, so the difference shows on futures and at higher VIP levels.

An order book: a market order takes liquidity and pays the taker fee, a limit order that waits on the book adds liquidity and pays the maker fee

On WEEX futures, a market order pays the 0.08% taker fee. A limit order that waits on the book until it fills pays the 0.02% maker fee.

WEEX’s fee guide adds a warning: “Placing a limit order does not guarantee that your order will be a maker order.” A limit priced so that it fills the moment you place it trades as a taker, and orders set to Immediate or Cancel (IOC) or Fill or Kill (FOK) always do. To make sure an order goes into the book before it fills, the guide says to select Maker Only when you place it. Our maker vs taker guide has a section on when a limit order pays the taker fee.

WEEX spot fees

On spot you own what you buy: the coin sits in your WEEX account until you sell or withdraw it. A regular account pays 0.10% as a maker and 0.10% as a taker: the same rate whichever way your order fills. Makers start paying less at VIP 1, at 0.08% against 0.09% for takers.

A $1,000 Bitcoin buy costs $1.00 in fees with either order type. Sell it again at the same price and you pay another $1.00, $2 for the round trip.

Binance and Bybit, for comparison, take 0.1% from a regular account on every spot trade. Some exchanges ask much more of a new account: at Kraken Pro it pays 0.4% as a maker and 0.8% as a taker, and at Coinbase Exchange 0.4% and 0.6%.

WEEX also keeps a changing list of spot pairs that cost nothing to trade, for makers and takers alike. On 1 October 2026 the list had 25 pairs. On 15 October it had six, all traded against USDT, PEPE/USDT among them. The zero rate belongs to the pair, not the coin: PEPE/USDC paid the regular rate that day. WEEX doesn’t say why a pair is on the list or for how long, so look your pair up on the Spot tab of the fee page before you trade.

WEEX futures fees

WEEX’s futures are perpetual contracts with USDT as margin. Instead of the coin, you trade a contract that tracks its price, so there’s nothing to withdraw, and you can go long (bet on a rise) or short (bet on a fall). Leverage lets your margin carry a bigger position: up to 400x on BTCUSDT for positions of up to 2,000,000 USDT, and less on larger ones.

For a regular account the rates are 0.02% maker and 0.08% taker, so a market order costs four times as much as a limit order that waits on the book.

Some smaller coins charge makers more, while the taker fee stays at 0.08%. On 1 October 2026, 130 USDT contracts had a higher maker fee: 74 at 0.03%, 37 at 0.05% and 19 at 0.08%. On that last group, AERO/USDT among them, a limit order costs as much as a market order. The Futures tab of the fee page lists the rates for every contract, so check it before you trade a small coin.

Why leverage makes futures fees bigger

WEEX works out futures fees on the position’s value. Its fee guide says they “are calculated based on the position value and are not related to leverage”. Leverage still changes what you pay, because it sets how large a position your margin opens.

Put $1,000 of margin into a trade at 10x and you hold a $10,000 position. At the regular taker rate, a market order to open it costs $8, and closing it at the same price costs another $8. Together that’s $16, or 1.6% of your $1,000, and you pay it whether the trade makes money or not. On spot, buying and selling $1,000 costs $2.

$1,000 of margin at 10x leverage opens a $10,000 WEEX futures position, which costs $8 to open and $8 to close at the taker rate

The fee is worked out on the whole $10,000 position, not on your $1,000 of margin: $8 to open and $8 to close at WEEX’s regular taker rate.

Use limit orders that wait on the book for both sides and the round trip costs $4 instead, $2 each way. Repeat it 20 times in a month and the fees add up to $320 with market orders, or $80 with limit orders.

Opening and closing are charged separately

WEEX’s fee guide says futures fees are “only incurred when opening, closing, or reducing positions”. Orders that never fill and orders you cancel are free. The two sides don’t have to match: a limit order to open the $10,000 position and a market order to close it cost $2 and $8. If you close only part of a position, the fee is charged on the part you close.

Funding fees on perpetual futures

Holding a perpetual contract also means funding: at set times, money moves between the traders who are long and those who are short. WEEX doesn’t profit from it. Its help center says “WEEX does not charge funding fees” and that the fees “are exchanged directly between users”. It’s money paid or received in addition to your trading fees.

Animation of WEEX funding on a 24-hour clock: at 08:00, 16:00 and 00:00 UTC the money goes from longs to shorts while the rate is positive, then from shorts to longs once it turns negative. None of it goes to WEEX.

Funding changes hands between longs and shorts, not with WEEX, and only if your position is open at funding time.

  • Direction: when the rate is above zero, longs pay shorts, and when it’s below zero, shorts pay longs.
  • When: every 8 hours on BTCUSDT. Many other contracts settle every 4 hours, and a few every hour, so check the contract’s details for its schedule.
  • How much: position value times the funding rate, so a rate of 0.01% on a $10,000 position comes to $1 each time. WEEX’s funding FAQ says the rate generally stays within 0.03% either way.
  • Only open positions count: WEEX applies funding only to positions held at the settlement time, so a position closed just before it pays and receives nothing.
  • On the receiving side, WEEX says the amount you get depends on the total collected from the traders who pay.

WEEX TradFi fees

WEEX also lists perpetual futures on traditional markets: stocks, indices, metals such as gold, forex and a few commodities. They run in the same futures account, with USDT as margin, and a regular account pays the same 0.02% maker and 0.08% taker as on crypto futures, charged on the position value when you open and again when you close. VIP discounts apply to them too.

TradFi contracts settle funding every 4 or 8 hours, depending on the contract, and a settlement can fall while the market behind them is closed. WEEX ran zero-fee TradFi promotions earlier in 2026. Those have ended, so if a WEEX page still mentions zero fees, go by the fee page.

WEEX VIP levels

WEEX has nine VIP levels, VIP 0 to VIP 8, with one table for futures and another for spot. Any one of a level’s conditions is enough to reach it.

Level Futures maker Futures taker Spot maker Spot taker
VIP 0 0.020% 0.080% 0.100% 0.100%
VIP 1 0.020% 0.075% 0.080% 0.090%
VIP 2 0.018% 0.060% 0.070% 0.080%
VIP 3 0.018% 0.055% 0.050% 0.060%
VIP 4 0.016% 0.050% 0.040% 0.050%
VIP 5 0.016% 0.048% 0.030% 0.040%
VIP 6 0.014% 0.045% 0.020% 0.030%
VIP 7 0.012% 0.042% 0.010% 0.020%
VIP 8 0.010% 0.040% 0.005% 0.018%

Rates from WEEX’s fee page, checked 15 October 2026. For the VIP 8 spot maker rate, a WEEX announcement from August 2026 gives 0.0048%.

On futures, VIP 1 only lowers the taker fee, from 0.08% to 0.075%, and the maker fee stays at 0.02% until VIP 2. On spot, VIP 1 is where makers start paying less than takers. At VIP 8, both futures rates are half the regular ones: 0.01% maker and 0.04% taker.

How to reach each level

The futures table asks for 30-day futures volume and the spot table for 30-day spot volume. Both accept the same WXT balance or asset value instead. WXT is WEEX’s own token.

Level 30-day futures volume 30-day spot volume 1-day WXT balance 5-day asset value
VIP 1 1,000,000 USDT 500,000 USDT 5,000 WXT 10,000 USDT
VIP 2 5,000,000 USDT 1,000,000 USDT 50,000 WXT 30,000 USDT
VIP 3 10,000,000 USDT 2,000,000 USDT 250,000 WXT 50,000 USDT
VIP 4 30,000,000 USDT 5,000,000 USDT 500,000 WXT 100,000 USDT
VIP 5 50,000,000 USDT 10,000,000 USDT 1,000,000 WXT 200,000 USDT
VIP 6 100,000,000 USDT 25,000,000 USDT 1,500,000 WXT 300,000 USDT
VIP 7 300,000,000 USDT 50,000,000 USDT 2,500,000 WXT 500,000 USDT
VIP 8 500,000,000 USDT 100,000,000 USDT Not available Not available

A few more rules:

  • VIP 8 needs trading volume. Since 21 September 2026, WXT and assets no longer qualify you for it on their own, and API trades can make up no more than 10% of the volume.
  • Levels update once a day. A new level applies automatically from 2:00 (UTC+8) the next day.
  • Spot and futures levels: WEEX’s fee page doesn’t say whether a level reached through futures volume also lowers your spot fees.
  • VIP status match: VIP users of other platforms can apply to WEEX with proof of their level.

How to pay less on WEEX

  1. Trade futures as a maker. On the $10,000 position from earlier, a limit order that waits costs $2 a side instead of $8, a quarter of the price. Choose Maker Only if you want to be sure the order waits.
  2. Check the maker fee before you trade a smaller coin. Where makers pay 0.03% or 0.05%, a limit order saves less, and where they pay 0.08%, it saves nothing.
  3. Reach VIP 1 through what you hold. Holding 10,000 USDT in assets on WEEX, or 5,000 WXT, is enough on its own, with no trading volume needed. On spot, VIP 1 lowers the maker fee from 0.10% to 0.08% and the taker fee to 0.09%. On futures, the taker fee drops to 0.075%.
  4. Size positions with fees in mind. At 20x, $1,000 of margin opens a $20,000 position, and every fee is twice what it would be at 10x.
  5. Look at funding before you hold a position for days: the rate, and how often the contract settles.
  6. Claim cashback on what you still pay, as the next section shows.

WEEX fees after cashback

WEEX pays a commission on the trading fees of users who sign up through a referral, and TradeGetPaid gives you back 40% of your spot and futures trading fees, at every VIP level. You pay WEEX its normal rates, and 40% of those fees is returned to you.

For futures, 40% back turns the regular rates into an effective 0.012% maker and 0.048% taker. On spot, 0.10% turns into 0.06%. Take the $10,000 round trip with market orders again: of its $16 in fees, $6.40 comes back, leaving $9.60.

WEEX futures fees with TradeGetPaid's 40% cashback: maker 0.02% to 0.012%, taker 0.08% to 0.048%

With 40% back, WEEX’s regular futures rates of 0.02% and 0.08% work out at 0.012% and 0.048%.

For a trader who uses market orders, a month of futures volume works out like this. Your 30-day futures volume sets your VIP level, so each row uses the taker rate that volume reaches:

Monthly futures volume Level and taker fee Fees 40% back What you really pay
$50,000 VIP 0, 0.08% $40 $16 $24
$400,000 VIP 0, 0.08% $320 $128 $192
$1,000,000 VIP 1, 0.075% $750 $300 $450
$25,000,000 VIP 3, 0.055% $13,750 $5,500 $8,250
$100,000,000 VIP 6, 0.045% $45,000 $18,000 $27,000

The $400,000 row is the 20 round trips of $10,000 from the futures section. From 1,000,000 USDT of 30-day futures volume your VIP level lowers the rate first, and the 40% comes back on what you still pay.

One limit: when a WEEX futures bonus or coupon pays part of a fee, WEEX pays no referral commission on that part, and there’s no cashback on it.
