- Spot: free for now, at 0.00% maker and 0.00% taker on every pair, stock tokens included.
- Futures: 0.02% maker and 0.04% taker for a regular account. Both are worked out on the full position size, and you pay on the way in and again on the way out.
- TradFi perps on gold, oil, forex, indices and stocks cost the same as crypto futures.
- Funding is settled between longs and shorts, usually every 8 hours, without Ourbit taking a share. A position closed before settlement neither pays nor receives.
- VIP levels lower the futures rates. Each level has two conditions and you only need one, so 10,000 USDT in total equity is enough for VIP 1.
- With TradeGetPaid, 45% of your trading fees come back to you. Spot is free, so in practice that’s your futures fees, which work out at 0.011% maker and 0.022% taker after cashback.

Maker or taker: which fee you pay
Ourbit spot is free either way, so maker and taker only matter on futures, where the taker rate is double the maker rate.
A market order fills immediately against orders already waiting in the order book. It takes liquidity out of the order book, so you pay the taker fee.
A limit order sets its own price and waits in the order book until someone trades with it. When it fills, Ourbit’s help center says, you’re charged “the more favorable maker fee”.

On Ourbit futures, the market order pays the 0.04% taker rate, and the limit order that waits pays 0.02%.
A limit order doesn’t always count as a maker order, though. If its price lets it fill the moment you place it, it takes liquidity just like a market order, and Ourbit charges the taker fee. Ourbit’s futures offer Post Only for this: a post-only order never fills on arrival, and Ourbit cancels it if it would, so it can only ever pay the maker rate. There’s more on the two order types in our maker vs taker guide.
Ourbit spot fees
Spot is where you buy the coin itself, to keep on Ourbit or withdraw to your own wallet. A regular account pays 0.00% as a maker and 0.00% as a taker, on every spot pair.
A $1,000 Bitcoin buy costs $0 in fees, and so does selling it again later.
Ourbit removed its spot fees in September 2024. Until then, both rates were 0.1%. It calls zero-fee spot trading a promotion and hasn’t announced an end date, so if you trade spot often, check the fee page now and then.
On Binance or Bybit, where a regular account pays 0.1% on both sides, that buy would cost $1. Kraken Pro charges a new account 0.4% as a maker and 0.8% as a taker, and Coinbase Exchange charges 0.4% and 0.6%, which puts a $1,000 market buy at $8 on Kraken Pro and $6 on Coinbase Exchange.
Ourbit futures fees
Ourbit’s futures are perpetual contracts settled in USDT. A futures position is a contract on a coin’s price, not the coin, so there’s nothing to withdraw. You can bet on a rise (going long) or on a fall (going short), with leverage of up to 500x on BTCUSDT for positions worth up to 100,000 USDT. Bigger positions get lower limits.
A regular account pays 0.02% as a maker and 0.04% as a taker. The rates look small, but they apply to the whole position, and leverage makes that position big.
Why leverage makes futures fees bigger
Ourbit’s help center describes trading fees as a percentage of the transaction amount, and gives your margin as the position value divided by your leverage. So the fee follows the size of the position, not the money you put up.
Open a position with $1,000 of margin at 10x and it’s worth $10,000. A market order costs $4 to open it and another $4 to close it. That’s $8, or 0.8% of your $1,000, gone before the trade has made or lost anything. On spot, the same $1,000 in and out costs nothing.

At the regular taker rate, each side of the $10,000 position costs $4, although only $1,000 of it is your own money.
With limit orders that wait in the book, each side costs $2 and the round trip $4. Twenty such round trips a month cost $160 with market orders and $80 with limit orders.
Opening and closing are charged separately
Ourbit names two separate fees, a position opening fee and a position closing fee, each based on the size and type of that trade. Each side pays the rate of its own order: open the $10,000 position with a limit order and close it with a market order, and the fees come to $2 plus $4, or $6.
Funding fees on perpetual futures
Perpetual contracts have no expiry date, and they come with funding: payments at set times between the traders on the long and short sides. None of the money goes to Ourbit. In its help center’s words, “Ourbit does not charge any funding fees to the users.” Funding is separate from the trading fee.

Funding moves from one side to the other, usually every 8 hours. At a 0.01% rate, a $10,000 position pays or receives $1.
- Direction: longs pay shorts when the rate is positive, and shorts pay longs when it’s negative.
- When: usually every 8 hours. Ourbit presets that cycle for all its perpetual futures, and the BTCUSDT contract shows it. Some contracts settle more often: gold, GOLD(XAUT)USDT, every 4 hours. Ourbit can also change the cycle when markets are extremely volatile.
- How much: position value times the funding rate. Ourbit’s own example uses 0.01%, at which a $10,000 position pays or receives $1 per settlement.
- Timing: a position you close before settlement neither pays nor receives anything. Ourbit allows a window of 15 seconds either side of the settlement time, so don’t leave it to the last few seconds.
The rate isn’t fixed: it can turn positive or negative, and the trading page shows the current one. On positions you keep open, it adds up. If you’re on the paying side and the rate stays at 0.01%, three days on the $10,000 position cost $9 in funding, more than the $8 it took to open and close it.
TradFi futures and stock tokens
Ourbit’s TradFi Zone lists perpetual futures on gold, oil, forex, stock indices and single stocks. They’re margined in USDT like the crypto contracts, and their trading pages show the same 0.02% maker and 0.04% taker for a regular account. Funding applies to them too, and US stock futures only trade while their market is open.
Ourbit has run time-limited zero-fee promotions on some of these pairs, and the TradFi Zone page still advertises zero fees on selected futures. Its terms say the rate on the trading page is what you pay, so check the pair’s own page before you count on a promotion.
For stock exposure without a contract, Ourbit’s spot market has tokenized stocks too, such as NVDAB/USDT and NVDAON/USDT, and they trade without a fee.
Ourbit VIP levels
Ourbit has five levels: VIP 0 to VIP 3, then VIP Supreme. They only change futures fees, since spot is free at every level.
| Level | Futures maker | Futures taker |
|---|---|---|
| VIP 0 | 0.020% | 0.040% |
| VIP 1 | 0.015% | 0.035% |
| VIP 2 | 0.010% | 0.030% |
| VIP 3 | 0.010% | 0.020% |
| VIP Supreme | 0.010% | 0.010% |
Rates from Ourbit’s VIP page, checked 15 October 2026.
The maker rate stops falling at VIP 2, so the levels above it only lower the taker fee. At VIP Supreme the taker fee is a quarter of the regular rate, and makers and takers pay the same.
How to reach each level
Each level has two conditions, and meeting either one is enough: your total equity on Ourbit, or your futures volume over the last 30 days.
| Level | Total equity | 30-day futures volume |
|---|---|---|
| VIP 1 | 10,000 USDT | 1,000,000 USDT |
| VIP 2 | 50,000 USDT | 5,000,000 USDT |
| VIP 3 | 100,000 USDT | 10,000,000 USDT |
| VIP Supreme | 200,000 USDT | 20,000,000 USDT |
- Only futures volume counts, and not on USDC/USDT or stablecoin pairs.
- Levels update every day, between 00:00 and 08:00 (UTC+8), based on a snapshot of your total assets from the day before.
- Ourbit matches VIP levels from other exchanges. If your level elsewhere meets Ourbit’s requirements, you can apply once you’re logged in. After a review, Ourbit gives you 30 days of VIP access.
How to pay less on Ourbit
- Buy on spot when you don’t need leverage. Spot is free, while a futures position pays a fee to open, another to close, and possibly funding in between. Even at 1x, a $1,000 futures position costs $0.80 to open and close with market orders.
- Let your futures orders wait in the book. The maker fee is half the taker fee, so each side of the $10,000 example costs $2 instead of $4. Post Only makes sure an order never fills as a taker.
- Reach VIP 1 through your equity. With 10,000 USDT of total equity you qualify without any trading volume, and your futures rates drop to 0.015% maker and 0.035% taker.
- Check the leverage before you open. Ourbit applies 20x by default if you don’t change it. On the same $1,000 of margin, 20x opens a $20,000 position, and the taker fee doubles to $8 per side.
- Watch funding on positions you hold for days, especially on contracts that settle every 4 hours, like gold.
- Get 45% of your fees back through TradeGetPaid, as the next section shows.
Ourbit fees after cashback
Ourbit’s affiliate program pays referrers a commission out of the trading fees their users pay, and TradeGetPaid shares that with you: on Ourbit, you get back 45% of your trading fees, at every VIP level. Ourbit still charges its normal rates, and the 45% is paid back to you afterwards. With spot free, in practice the cashback comes from your futures fees.
That brings the regular futures rates down to an effective 0.011% maker and 0.022% taker. On the $10,000 round trip from earlier, market orders cost $8 and $3.60 of it comes back, so the real cost is $4.40. Twenty round trips a month cost $160, and with $72 back you pay $88.

With 45% back, Ourbit’s regular futures rates come down to 0.011% maker and 0.022% taker.
For a month of futures market orders, your 30-day futures volume sets your VIP level, so each row uses the taker rate that volume reaches:
| Monthly futures volume | Level and taker fee | Fees | 45% back | What you really pay |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| $50,000 | VIP 0, 0.04% | $20 | $9 | $11 |
| $250,000 | VIP 0, 0.04% | $100 | $45 | $55 |
| $1,000,000 | VIP 1, 0.035% | $350 | $157.50 | $192.50 |
| $25,000,000 | VIP Supreme, 0.01% | $2,500 | $1,125 | $1,375 |
| $100,000,000 | VIP Supreme, 0.01% | $10,000 | $4,500 | $5,500 |
From 1,000,000 USDT of 30-day futures volume your level lowers the rate first, and the 45% comes back on what you still pay. VIP Supreme starts at 20,000,000 USDT, where takers pay 0.01%.
